Tool/trick for headlamp nut removal?
Is the trick to use a thin walled socket or grind down a donor? I can’t get anything onto the headlamp nut in order to separate it from the eyebrow. 3/4” nut, yes? Thanks.

A regular 3/4" deep well socket should do it... unless the stud and nut are slid all the way to the end of the adjusting slot. This places the nut up against the inside of the eyebrow barrel... leaving no room for the wall of the socket.
My 73 XLH suffers the opposite problem... that is, I cannot aim my headlight down as far as I'd like it because... you can't tighten the nut with a 3/4" deep well socket without pushing the nut back away from the barrel wall... which raises the headlight beam.
So, I'll be watching for a solution to Todd's problem; as it will likely solve mine!

There's your problem: it's got the wrong nut on it.
