White Letter Tires
Hi all, my motorcycle came with white letter Goodyear Eagle A/T tires when new. I need to put new tires on my bike since the ones on it now are pretty dry rotted after 24 years of sitting.
I would like to put raised white letter tires back on it to give it that factory look but am having a hard time finding a matching set from the same manufacturer. The front size is 100/90-19 while the back is 110/90-18.
I like the Bridgestone Spitfire S11 but they only make the front tire in my size. Looks like the only rear rwl tire they make are for 15 and 16 inch rims.
They do make a rwl tire in 120/90-18 which may fit my rear rim but the tire is made for the front.
Anyone have any suggestions as to what to do without resorting to a paint stick?
Thanks
Jon

Well I have been on the hunt for a white letter tire that will fit the rear of my XLCR and it appears there is no manufacturer that makes it. There are plenty that make a 19 inch front but the 18 inch rear is a no-go.
I even contacted Bridgestone but got no response. Bridgestone makes the Spitfire S11 tire that has the right look and performance. They just do not make an 18 inch rear raised white letter!
It is probably for the the best anyway that I do not go with the Spitfire even if they made my size. The white letters are upside down on the side of the tire! I think over time that would really bug me.
Thanks
Jon

Try searching for Dunlop K591. They are raised white letters and I think they make either a 17 or 18 inch rear tire. Can't remember which.

Thanks Jim.........
Naw, I wasn't that smart I used white spray paint........spray it in the lid and let it thicken up a bit, then use a small paint brush. 2 coats to get it heavy enough. Then brushed a little clear over them. Like I said....it's tedius and real hard on the back. I didn't do this set when I put them on!

Only kidding, try a c.d. marker pen, available in white, blue, red, yellow, etc.
Easy to apply, and has lasted for two years (in gold) on the michelin men on my vw bug tyres !!

Avon RoadRiders are available in 100/90-19 and 110/90-18 sizes for universal (front or rear) fitment. I did the lettering on mine with a paint stick.

IMO raised white letters on tires do not look good. They detract from the overall look of the bike. Looking at the bike i am tempted to say "nice tires" rather than "nice bike".
Did factory tires ever have raised white letters?
Go for black tires.
