Thank you Bill. I'm still a bit disappointed they didn't turn out better. They were in really bad condition so they do look far better than they did. After installing the wheels I realized the new rear disc is wrong. I'll have to get a larger diameter. I'm still cleaning up the brake calipers. They will be painted black. The oil bag needs to be stripped and flushed, maybe replaced when I see how bad it really is. Looking to have her running in January.

Thanks Steve, it's getting a little love. It was severely neglected by PO. I'm just freshening up to restore reliability, no mods. Pretty much stock bike except for Andrews cams and S&S carb.

i just went through a similar situation with the fork sliders on my'03.they had salt air corrosion from being in florida.i wet sanded them with 1500 paper then polished them.the factory used some type of coating on them that i had to sand through before i could get down to the aluminum.caused alot of extra sanding.

I use a finishing flapper wheel for aluminum on my angle grinder for the really bad corroded stuff.
