Default 2010 sportster LED turn signals load balancer?

Hello

I have fitted LED turn signals front and rear on my 2010 sportster. When indicating they flash at the correct speed then after about 3 flashes, they flash really fast. If I put the bike in hazard mode by pressing both indicators, they flash at the correct speed. On older bikes I know I need to fit a load balancing resistor so it sees the indicator resistances.

Will I need to do that in this? Strange how it can work but not pertinently. I have seen the set up for 2014 on wards but that procedure doesn’t work for me.

Thanks

The Sportsterpedia mentions some 2007-13 units do work and others have had trouble:
http://sportsterpedia.com/doku.php/t...asic_functions

Here's a thread where a 2008 worked:

If you can't get your unit to work - adding load resistors has worked...

I didn't need a load balancer on my '13 '72'. The bike automatically senses the load and adjusts accordingly. I thought this had been the case for a few years previously; not sure how many years.

A load resister seems to be in order for your case. On one of my bikes I left it alone and learned to live with the increased flashing and believe it might be more attention getting for that. Any extra alert of cagers around me is appreciated.

I have an 09. I swapped my front signals to LED and had the same slow blink followed by fast. It lasted for a little while. Maybe 2 weeks of steady daily use. Then, the problem miracled itself away. Give it time before doing too much.
