I'm an out-of-work Macintosh consultant with 36 years of experience.

But I got laid off a few years ago, and had to make my side-gig into my full-time gig and made my side business official: now, I'm a motor vehicle buyer's agent.

I find, inspect, and buy old car and truck projects from the 50s and 60s for folks in Europe, cram them full of parts to finish the job (or to get a good start), and ship them to them.

I drive all over the Midwest, mostly in a 200 mile circle, and get $500/car and $1/mile to hand people cash and take pictures. Then I hand the title back and tell the seller to give it to the driver in a week, and I go home.

My buddy in Germany sets up the shipping for $300. The buyer pays the boat ride folks for the truck ride to the boat, so I never have to do transport. But if I do I have a place I can store their project while we fill it with parts.

Since I'm only going 200 miles out and 200 miles back, I don't really ned a Big Twin - a Sportster is just fine for what I do. I get to race freight trains across the Great Plains into the sunset, when all the grain is blowing around and looks like waves of fire. I get to ride winding roads to see the stars twinkle on hidden Ozark mountain lakes. I get to go as fast as I want out on the turnpike, and have ridden out so far that the roads are dirt and if you push the Seek button on your radio it runs all the way through the dial because it can't pick up any stations.

I crawl around in a lot of old barns, and under a lot of old trucks in fields. I pet a lot of barn cats that want to "help", and have been enthusiastically greeted my many a farm dog tongue.

And I always make it home for dinner... or just after (hence, the 200 mile or so limit).

And I have a lot of adventures.

Also, I'm a big man that likes tiny bikes, so it's kind of an abomination. I keep telling my kids I look really cool, but they tell me I just look like somebody's dad, combined with a circus bear.

I've been through Indiana quite a few times.

Usually, if I'm on 64, I stop by this place for a photo op:

I've got a few good friends out in your part of the world - at one time, I could couch-hop my way around Manchester, Leeds, etc.

Howdy Ontario!

I've never got as far north as Canada, but I hear folks there are so nice I might not want to come back home! LOL!
