[QUOTE sometimes they will ask you to remove the head for a measure. [/QUOTE]

Alot of times you have to remove much more than that. Sometimes they want to see rod, trans ect. We call that getting "Tupperwared". You leave tech with your eng in a bunch of Tupperware bins.

In one respect out Historic Race classes have a major advantage with internal parts.

We can us ANYTHING at all we like internally. Apart from 4 valve conversions. So yes, Titanium con rods, no problem. Altered bore and stroke, no problem. Conversion to 6 speed gearboxes, no problem. Anything you want as long as it cannot be seen outside the original engine castings/covers.

My brother for example has built a 1972 Moto Guzzi engine which is basically a 1099 Ducati inside.

The big thing with cheating has always been capacity. It's the easiest thing to do and produces much better results.

At one time we had guys building Rocket Ships that everyone KNEW were illegal as soon as the blasted down the straights. They didn't care if the lost the Gold Cup after the event. They just wanted the glory of finishing first in front of a crowd.

Often they wouldn't bother with the measure. Just refuse and take the bike home.
