Default 95-96 Evo Sporty Clutch Cable Differences

Hello all. Quick run down.... Engine in my 91 1200 converted is shot as I previously inquired about an engine builder. Well I've decided to get me back on the road quickly, for now, I'm buying a 99 1200 donor bike and swapping engines. I currently run a Labriola Jockey Shift setup. After researching clutch cable applications, it seems the range is 90?-95 and 96-03. I know I'm getting ahead of myself, which is normal for me, but my question is what is the difference in clutch cables between these year ranges? Will I be able to swap my kit over with no modifications? I'm attempting to save precious time and get all my ducks in a row and work out any kinks ahead of time. Any input is much appreciated.

The clutch ramps are different between the '91 and '99. '91 has the clutch ramp behind the primary cover and the '99 has the clutch ramp behind the derby cover. Differences are probably the length and where the cable adjuster is located.

I do see the difference there. The cable I am running came with the kit, no adjuster present. Judging from pictures I've seen of the 99 and my current primary cover, it looks as if the cable still enters the "primary" at the same point on both years. I guess other than length I was also worried about cable ends being different, or how it connects to the ramp.

Here's the parts listing/diagram for both 1991 and 1999:

http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche....TCH%20ASSEMBLY

http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche....TCH%20ASSEMBLY

And here's the Sportsterpedia section on the clutch:
http://sportsterpedia.com/doku.php/t...vo:priclutch01

You should note that the actual cable coupling is the same part (34920-86A), BUT, the Ball & Ramp assembly are different & they mount different in the primary cover... So the cable may interchange if the length is right for the bars you are using...

1991 does not have an oil seal at the primary cover while the 1999 parts shows one there...
