Default Luggage rails?

Is there such a thing as a luggage rail, it would sort of be U-shaped and go around the seat. Then I could tie on and support a duffel bag.

I suppose it would attach at the top of the rear shocks, and maybe to the license plate gizmo. Might bend some conduit and make one..... Hmmm.

I had a Sissy Bar that was solid enough to support a luggage rack, it was a Harley SB made for Sportsters.

Here is my first attempt. 1/2 inch thinwall conduit.

I'd rather run it from the shock bolts though. It's stronger than it looks.

Looks good. I like home made stuff. Less expensive & you can tailor it to your specific needs. It can sometimes be nearly impossible to find what you need, even in the huge aftermarket available for Harleys.

After talking to my wife's cousin, who has about 10 mc in various stages of restoration etc, he's a classic DIYer, I'm looking into ammo cans, I'm used to bikes having at least some luggage capacity (Burgman, Concours).
Will post pix, it's a long-term project though

Mine is a long term project, too. 11 years so far. lol I've got so many home made farkles on it, I'd have to take about 2 hours to look over the bike to remember them all & list them. I've just spent the last 2 days redoing the brackets for the sissy bar & pack & putting the recently powder coated fenders & strut covers back on. Never ending, fussing over it, trying to get it just that little bit better. As a rough guess, I'd say I've got at least a dozen "improvements" that were cobbled together in the garage.
