Default Bent Forward Control Engine Mount

So when I had my accident, the right front forward control footrest bent and also bent the engine mount slightly. It moreso bent the top tab on the frame. I can see stress signs in the cracking paint where the bend is. When I screw in the new/used forward control footrest support you can see how its cocked up.

So a few things.
1. Is it ok to heat the tab and gently tap back into position.
2. Being that it's bent the engine mount is kinda wedged in..tho not badly. How do I get that off after undoing the bolts?
3. Is there any measurement the motor should be from each side of the frame? This way I know the motor wasn't shifted.

I was gonna give up but I'm slowly getting it back together. Need my knees in the breeze once again!

jpeg would do nicely. heat may not be your friend as if not applied correctly, can make the metal brittle. if you decide to do so, go to a welding supply and get some temperature paint sticks so you can control the heat.

thank you, great info. I did see another thread here regarding the bent frame tabs. Mine aren't crazy bent but just enough to cock the footrest extension when I screw it in. I might be able to heat it enough to give it a couple love taps. Read to wrap wet rags around the frame near it as a heat sink.

Hey BlackBikeDave, if you're looking for measurements , the best place to get them is off another similar Sporty. Plus you can get the angles of the tabs, too.

So I ended up not putting any heat on it at all. I found a big pipe wrench that would fit in the space. Clamped it on the frame tab and gave it a gentle little twist and then another gentle bend strait. I don't think i stressed on them enough to damage them. Right Peg flys even again
