Wait for a Demo ride. Demo rides have killed my desire for certain bikes and made me fall in love with others. I've got a 29" inseam; a 33" seat height could be a real deal breaker, but I'll reserve my opinion until I ride one. 33" isn't too high for an ADV bike, though. maybe Polaris should aim the FTR in that direction.

I agree

I've done several demo rides, Did a Ducati demo day a couple years ago, hated the X-Diavel, loved the Multistrada, which is weird coming from Harley Cruisers and sport bikes. Never considered myself much of an adventure bike kind of guy

I look forward to a demo ride of the FTR1200 in the spring. I won't have a spare $15K by then anyway.

Adjust-ability is key.
With all that travel, nibble away with a different, shorter spring and wha-la, a lower seat.
When the daughter took horse riding lessons she used a step stool to climb aboard the big dumb animal.
As the arth-a-ritis creeps in, I'll climb up on pegs and side stands and dismount like I did off the too tall motocrosser, sideways.
I ain't too proud to improvise another day, another way, of riding. Prosthesis are not just romantic helpers.

If i'm forced to buy dohc... nowadays i rather buy european or jap... then we will see in the future the new hd breed...
Mo.Co. can made it... BMW taught to all... an ancient engine that had win all the challenges...

the goal IMO is to keep charisma even if they diserted pushrods... very difficult... or in alternative finding something that make you think... oh... that's an Harley and not a metric...
