Had a short ride on a BSA A10 with struts in the 70s & hated it, so did the owner, springs went back on a few days later. I heard a hardtail gives a different ride to struts but still not comfortable. Apart from looks or the lower seat height I can't see any advantage

Not too difficult to put a spring seat on as well as the struts. And no reason you can't run a spring seat and shocks, unless you just don't like the look.

I love my rigid Paughco frame. Harder to ride at night though because I have to read the road for potholes.

My area is all new blacktop and concrete roads. Probably why I am a happy camper.

Having road those east coast roads. I can see why everyone who posted earlier is butt hurt.
