Default choosing gasket set

What's the difference between OE gasket set and a Cometic Gasket set. I had leaking from a number of place and I know 2 owners ago had this bike sitting in a shed for a while, hence the mileage ( 1994 with 3700 miles). So I figure I would just replace all the gaskets and seals. And it gives me something to do waiting for my led sled to get welded on. Any thoughts, suggestions, other gasket company to check out?

Use James or Cometic, best way to go.

The newer OEM gaskets are probably best for the rocker boxes (the new lower gasket will be 1-piece and orange in color) and the O-ring gaskets will fit perfectly. I've used both Cometic and OEM rocker box gaskets, the OEM are far better. For base/Head gaskets, Cometic are the best. Bottom end stuff, I really don't know

Edit: not entirely sure, but I've heard the James Rocker box gaskets are the same as the newer OEM.

Similar....but I think the OEM lower rocker box gaskets are better. I do have James on there now and they aren't leaking....but the OEM ones looked better.

I am using the Cometic head gaskets though. I've only used the over-priced OEM bottom end gaskets though!
