Default 883 Iron Stanchion tube overlap- how much length can you add with stock tubes

Hey all,

I want to go at least 2" over and maybe more, but want to know if anyone knows how much over you can go without getting new tubes.

Your damper rod limits travel but you can buy longer dampers for more travel.

Here's the Sportsterpedia section on the Front Forks & Components:
http://sportsterpedia.com/doku.php/techtalk:evo:susp01

I would be careful extending the stock forks more than the most extended version listed in the charts for those tubes & legs...

In extended mode, like when hitting a pothole, the overlap will determine the strength of the forks to absorb harsh pressures to collapse...

Check out Tracker Die, they have new damper rods that will give you 2" extra.
