Poll: Milwaukee-Eight Sportster Engine Size
If there is an M8 Sportster in the offing, what engine would you want?
- 883 or 1200cc is perfect for the Sporster
- 883 or 1300cc+ is required these days
- 883 is no longer required, larger engines only
I don't have the options to create a poll, but please vote anyway!
Cheers,
Chris

1. Best option
2. 1300+ Makes no sense, just buy a BT
3. Only for people who suffer from Small Penis Syndrome.

No one, you just did. I was merely refering to a syndrome
But seriously, I think if there ever will be an M8 Sportster they should keep a 'smaller' version like the 883. Get some decent power out that 883 to beat some Ducati Monsters. Keep the 1200 for cruising/touring purposes.

To compete with Il Mostro, the Sportster is going to have to lose about a hundred pounds, and I don't see that happening.
My 883 was fine for what I used to use it for, and would easily cruise at 85mph (137kph) given low elevation and flat land.
However, some of the packs I ride in now like to maintain a speed of around 90mph (145kph) and 883s are actually against the rules. I cannot speak to why they are against the rules but my guess is because the 883 loses speed real quick when faced with things like hills, headwinds, and high elevation.
As far as big bore motors go, what's not to like? Maybe someone wants a 120-130hp motor in a smaller, better handling chassis, and they don't need it to live for 100k miles. Some people would rather be shot out of a cannon than squeezed out of a tube, to paraphrase the late Hunter S. Thompson. It doesn't say a damn thing about the size of their junk.
The fact you trot that old tired insult out says a ton about you though.
Have a great day!

What old tired insult? I'm not aware that made one? I made a joke. You know joke?
"a display of humour in which words are used within a specific and well-defined narrative structure to make people laugh and is usually not meant to be taken seriously. It takes the form of a story, usually with dialogue, and ends in a punch line."
But if the cap fits, wear it...
