It must not be for all XL. Just registered on the HD site and there are no recalls for mine.

Took my 2009 XL1200c in last week......didn't need an appointment at Fink's HD. They came out and fixed it in the parking lot in about 3 minutes. Mechanic said mine was around the 40th for them to repair.

The notice for my wife's Superlow included a pretty little certificate of compliance and a dire warning that the state would not renew her registration next year if this critical emission related mod was not performed by a certified H-D service facility with the certificate signed and sealed by an authorized representative.
Just more evidence of what a special place California is.

I guess I'd better call the dealer. I thought maybe customs didn't have the problem. Guess they do.

I just checked for recalls on mine via the MoCo's website. Apparently the '11 Nightsters aren't affected...

Mine seals tight so tight that the cap is hard to get off. But what it does do on my Bike is its scratching the paint around the filler hole down to the bare metal. I told this to my dealer and they want me to bring it in so they can see why it is scratching the paint and maybe replace or repaint the tank.
