Chuck,

I am personna non grata on the K forum for stirring/questioning some of its published data plus I don't want to add credit to its little Napoleon owner anymore in me life, simple as that...

Dave banned me twice for stuff far less controversial than what some of his pals come up to, so, little coterie/secret society/rubadub stuff goin'on there no doubt... Or he just plain hate French guys...

As for 500+ XL/XR gear mods done in Rick's shop, you gotta take it with a pinch of salt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Which I did...

Patrick

Just wondering how much engagement depth is gained by this mod. I wish I had a tranny on the bench to check.

Regarding 4th gear.

The way I see it.

The only thing in this mod that gives deeper 4th gear engagement is the -.020 fork. Moving mainshaft 3rd closer to the door just allows there to be somewhat equal spacing on each side of the slider gear so 3rd gear engagement isn't too shallow after putting in the new fork.

So if you have a transmission set up with a standard mainshaft shift fork and you do this mod and change the fork to a -020, you'll have .020" deeper 4th gear engagement.

That's all you get.
