I started with a Schumacher which is just a tender. Then I bought a Battery Tender and a Yuasa tender - for use on 2 bikes. These last two have complex algorithms to charge and maintain the battery besides just charge and float charge. The Yuasa is supposed to actually de-sulfate a battery. So far the results seem good. The batteries keep going.

I swear by Genius Noco chargers. We use them in our shop to maintain medical equipment batteries. They are high quality and affordable. They desulfate and have various modes for different scenarios (ambient temp, diff voltages, etc). Easily found on Amazon or feebay.
