Goode to hear. My home built car port has survived 70mph desert gusts so far.

That's a fine steel building you got there Roky.

I got a new roof in '18 from the '17 storm

Was on generator for 8 weeks from the two storms in '05. Still had kids at home then. Have to take them seriously. never know how strong they will get when they hit that warm shallow water Straits of FL

They have been coming later in the year, bad storms then

Back around 1970 I was told I should head home from Kadena Air Base in Okinawa as a typhoon was setting in good.

So I went home.

It was raining hard, and the wind was picking up really good too. Soaked road, hill on my right before leaving the base. As I passed the hill I was hit by a gust. Probably close to 100 MPH gust. If you have ridden in high wind you know that feels like it blows the wheels right out from under you as it forces you into a radical lean, so I slid across the road in front of oncoming traffic and off into the dirt on the left side of road, where the dirt had good traction compared to the wet road and that kept me from hitting the ground. I made it home (a small village called Teragawa) fine, and since then I like wind for some strange reason.
