Repaired a snapped bike mirror with super glue to keep the stem in place and mig welded over that.

Aluminum is harder. Gotta be real clean. For the bondo jb posts. I gotta agree . Aint gonna work.

Thanks for all the input. Currently doing a full disassembly and clean to get this properly welded at a local shop!

When you go to reassemble the motor, there is a special tool to pull the crankshaft back into the bearing race. Don't try to gently tighten the case bolts in the hope of getting that crankshaft bearing to seat. This will crack the case. I had my indie install my crankshaft/flywheel assembly and button my case back up for me and I'll reassemble the rest of the way.

The homemade tools thread has a few flywheel installers if you feel like doing it yourself.

I highly suggest getting a Factory Service Manual and the parts book if you're going to split cases. I've done it, and even with the book's guidance there's a hundred ways to screw it up.

By the way, one of your case bolts is probably a little allen head hiding by the drive sprocket. Took me ages to find that darn thing.
