I went with progessive 412's this week

Previous owner had 10" bone-crunchers on there.

I was going to buy 13.5" but I listened to a couple guys on here and bought the 12.5's

Not a great shock, but for $250. worth it, and I love the way the bike sits now.
13.5' would have looked funny

Yep. I see what you mean about how much it has risen in the rear.

Seeing what the difference in appearance two inches has made i understand why you did not go with the 13.5 inch shocks. Of course there are always lowering blocks that can be used to drop the rear back down. Enjoy.

Shocks are like tires, seats, and oil. Everybody has their own favorite. I use to run roadking air shocks. They gave a nice easy on my neck and back type of ride but were lacking when I pushed the bike hard on twisty roads. I found they needed to have air lines with a T connector to keep them in balance. I was looking to upgrade them with a set of 412’s until I test drove two new triumph thruxton’s. One with Ohlins and the other without. It was like riding two totally different machines.
I went with a set of Ohlin HD756’s and have never regretted spending what I did. They were not cheap, but I did get a really great deal by buying them around Christmas time and the vendor had a button on the web site that said “make an offer”. Pressed the button with a really low offer that was just above the next model down and he accepted. I had to go thru a bunch of questions about my weight, riding style, and stuff and they configured them for me and my bike. They are the stock length for my roadster.
The old saying “you get what you pay for” really applies with this shocks.
Awesome ride and handling. No regrets, ever!

Nice choice! That's the shock that I'm planning to get also.

Since buying and installing the Ohlin's I've dropped thirty pounds so last summer I spent a week tweaking both front and rear suspension components so the free sag and ride height on both ends were spot on for my weight and the way I ride. I came away with a nicely balanced suspension. I run 'Progressive' springs up front.

Well I got the Progressive Cruze shocks yesterday and one of the eyelets was welded on at an angle. Not impressed! I’m exchanging them and will try one more time. Hopefully I’ll have good luck.

The 412's are not great shocks, but acceptable carving up these canyons here in South Florida
