not too bad if they are better quality now. 6205s are like $35 local funny money a pop down here (˜7 USD) tough

I partly went with bearings from HD as there are a LOT of counterfeit SKF's out there and a wheel bearing failure can be catastrophic at speed...
(I do realize that authentic SKF's are very high quality)

You normally get part # changes (supercedes) when there's a design or spec change, not a supplier change.

11 year old bike with 14.500 miles.....are my bearings (front and rear) about ready to be replaced?.....I drive relatively slow usually 45 to 65 and on smooth roads....never been in the rain or in dusty areas.

IMHO the worst conditions bearings (wheel and steering head) see are the high pressure washers folks love to use to get all the crud off their bikes. Great way to force water past the seals and why axles need to be lubed so they don't rust inside the bearings and center spacer.

My front wheel was new that I'd installed All Balls brgs in. It now has SKF's. My rear wheel was used that I found on e-bay in great condition. They said the bike had ~8,000 miles before being totaled, ~14,000 miles now. It will get new brgs during its' upcoming tire replace. Good bearings should easily last 25,000+ miles if you keep the high pressure washer away from them.

Just my 2 cents.

I will be needing tires in about 3 to 4k miles.....probably be best to change the bearings then, seems to be cheap insurance....thanks for the info

^^Agreed. Although I would think very much double that 25K.
