Default Another lubrications question

Hello folks Glad to be back been away several years. My 83 Ironhead hasn’t been started in quit some time now.It was just serviced before I went away Now when I looked it all over I found no oil in the oil tank and I know it bib that leak out.So I’m thinking it pooled into the crankcase. If that’s so what should I do to circulate the oil before starting her up against

If quite some time is like a year or something I like to put a few mls of oil in each cylinder and rock it around a bit. After that leave the gas off, could even pull the plugs if you want, and then cycle the starter a few times. Regardless, put a catch pan under your vent line and prepare to have it spit out some oil when it gets going. Put the pan underneath BEFORE you mess with cranking or starting it unless you really like cleaning it up. (not that I have done that or anything...)

Quite some time is just under six years .I appreciate your your thoughts.I just don’t want to start it up without any oil circulation.Befoe I went away The engine was all redone and I don’t want to ruin it.

Cranking it for a minute (~15 seconds at a time, letting the starter cool between) should return about a 3/4 to 1 quart of the oil to the tank.
