Default Looking for Sober Riders

Hi,

I've been clean and sober since 1985 and have been riding a motorcycle for nine years (seven of those on a Sportster). I'm looking for folks to ride with in the St. Louis, MO area who are sober but not too religious. Any thoughts and suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Thank you.

"who are sober but not too religious" I haven't met many of those except in the prison where I take meetings and they are all from celebrating recovery. That is where i got over my resentment toward religion. They are just suiting up and showing up like me and they have their faults and I have mine.

Some of the very best meetings I've ever gone to were in prison.

Funny thing, when you have a room where a number of the guys are actual killers, guys tend not to talk a lot of shit... which ends up making a space where everybody is free to get pretty honest.

If you were in NJ, I could hook you up, Biggie. Don't know about Missouri, but keep poking around; if you can, attend conferences or whatever they are called down there, leave notes on the bikes you see there, and get creative. You can probably turn up a couple of relaxed riding buddies if you keep at it. Good luck!

Why? Just ride and enjoy the ride.

My riding buddy this morning was a tiny fruit fly that hung out on my speedo face to keep out of the wind. We both arrived safely, and went our separate ways. Tomorrow I will meet someone else... Or not.

There really aren't all that many too religious sober people that I have seen. But I guess other than jails I wouldn't see em anyway.

people who never drank or partied sometimes are too straight for ex- party folk(people who trade beer for Jesus or daily meetings imho-are a different kind of sober than I - I hit my own bottom when I realized i was fat and lazy while also prone to bad choices in my personal life due to alcohol so I quit it over a decade ago and have like life better w/o that drug ) - not always tho', and once sober for a bit- who knows I used to have my vitamin B as BEER after work LOL!

Not in the bar or in the church parking. Look at the dealer, lot of HOG that like riding. In Canada, Tim Hortons coffee places, sometime the parking have tens of bikes in them.
