I just checked my order history, I guess I did actually order the wrong seat (3.3 version). I will confidently order the 4.5 version!

you have a 4.5 though. Are you filling to the bottom of the filler neck, or just until the pump shuts off?
I always fill it to the bottom of the filler neck, the most I've ever squeezed in was 3.4gal.

Your bike came standard with the 4.5 gallon tank and is indeed what you have in your hands. You may loose a little capacity due to the fuel pump. If you are looking at paying return shipping as well as the shipping on a new seat, consider pulling the front of your cover back, (probably riveted, my was) snip off a bit of foam and rerivet your cover back down.

However, when I look up pictures of the 4.5gal tank, it looks just like mine, and when I look up the 3.3gal tank, it looks smaller. When I ordered a wide solo tripper seat from Mustang for the 4.5gal tank version, the seat didn't fit. It was too small, I had to scrunch/jam the seat into the tank to get it to line up with the screw hole in the fender, which made the seat wrinkle up.

Here's my tank:

they sell 2 sepret ones , one for a 3.3 gall and one for the 4.5 gal
