I'd report that to HD Customer Service, not very customer friendly.

It's all about CX (customer experience) today!

Well, that didn't take long. Got a notice that the supplier does not have the umbrella valve.
Yep and sadly a nationwide search often just shows who hasn't updated their stock itinerary on a nation-wide basis.
Ask me how I know! At least with the umbrella valve there are viable aftermarket options if yours has died. I did
manage to find a NOS 88-90 pinion gear on eBay Canada, so don't give up on your quest just yet Gary E.

I notice that the 26856-89 Bustert mentioned seems to be sold in pairs, which suggests it is the later head breather valves?
I suspect the single umbrella valve in our engines is larger but I have not had both side by side. It would be useful to get
confirmation either way.

I need someone in Europe to get it from JW Boon, then send it to me.

Mine hasn't died...yet. When it comes to vintage MC's, cars, and other, I'm big on planning for the future for when a part might decide to give up. I've got 6 vintage BSA's, a vintage Mini Cooper, and a 1942 WWII carbon arc searchlight. As a result, I'm always looking.

Yep, hence my spare pinion gear! I would also plan on getting in a good stock of transmission parts.

I am in Europe but Boon normally ask for a minimum order of €75-100.

Well, that a start. 75-100 Euro would be about $85 to $114 USD. Let's see, what else do I need that would get me there.

I just Googled "industrial umbrella valve" and got several sources. Maybe contact this company if you can take some measurements? Since yours is still good, might be wise to check commercial sources. Sounds like you have plenty of time. Hell, buy 100 and corner the market on Ebay!!!

http://www.minivalve.com/newsite/ind.../how-they-work

I'd bet you can find some kind of equivalent valve with just a bit of work.
