Default Further forward mids on pre-2014 models

It looks like the further forward mids (like on a 1200T) are for 2014 and up Sportsters. I have a 2013, and I feel like I’m somewhere in between forwards and mids, and the further fwd mids might be perfect for me.

Is the brake rod length is the only part that prevents fitment on pre-2014 Sportsters? Meaning I could use a fwd control brake rod and cut it down to size (take some length of rod out of the middle) at some metalwork shop?

Any other way/product to get further forward mids on pre-2014 Sportsters?

The fittings on the ends of the brake rod are different. For '04 - '13 the brake rod operates a bell crank, with the m/c under the bike. For '14+ the brake rod operates the m/c directly.

So, you'd want to start with an '04 - '13 brake rod to cut down. Or just make a new rod.

forward mids, or short forwards even would be nice.
us short guys are stuck in between.
i rode my sisters 48 with forwards, i pulled it off, but it was a stretch.
thats why i bought my 2010 1200 low with mids.

I fitted Kuryakin mini floorboards to my forward controls and mounted them as far back as I could. This gave me the best fit all round without too much mucking around. I'm 5'10", but found with pegs and forward controls that my feet slid off on every bump; I was always lifting my legs to put my feet back properly on the pegs.
