The fluid had 10K miles on it because that's how many miles the bike had on it, but was 18 years old and was watery, black and stunk worse than a dead skunk. I don't know if Amsoil is better than stock Harley fluid but I plan to keep using it after these results. AND I plan to change it every 10K miles or 2 years, just to be safe.
It had been changed just before I left

ParrotHead,

Hopefully, it's just the seals. Let us know what it was.

Default Front forks

I bit the bullet a few years ago and had Progressive mono struts installed. With my new "XR" calipers it still compresses the front forks when I grab a big handful of front brakes but it's controlled. After all I'm placing the weight of the bike on the front wheel at that point. I have 412's on the rear end and plan on changing them this winter to 990's.

Just need to drain the oil, then the oil bag & engine come out...

All prep for sealing the patina finish from two owners back...

Servicing the primary,(planned maintenance), and chasing down an intermittent dropped cylinder, unplanned. I hate intermittents!

Took off with the wife on a 200 mile ride for dinner yesterday afternoon, burgers at Fast Eddies in Alton,IL.
Went for a ride along the river afterwards before heading home.
