Finally got the new paintwork back on the bike, along with a new front guard/fender. I had to make a pair of fork clamps to mount it the way I wanted, these are polished and don't look right on the silver fork lowers, but I'll paint them black at some point. It'll also be getting upgraded suspension this year, but need to save my pennies to pay for that.

My current big problem is the broken oil pressure sender.. I've got a new one to replace it, but cant get the broken one off the engine.. it just wont move. Not helped by the lack of access, probably worse than on a standard Ironhead. I don't want to risk starting the bike, and wrecking the engine for a lack of oil if there's a problem.

Had lots of frustrating problems with the bike recently, mainly electrical. Its needed a new starter motor, a leaking hydraulic clutch slave cylinder and with those fixed it still wouldn't fire up. Eventually I traced the problem to a HT lead which was tracking. A simple fix I should've found it earlier.

Smoked a bit when it finally fired up, probably due to the oil I poured down the bores sometime ago.

Sounds pretty good with its reverse megaphone 'silencers' …. You can here it start for the first time in years here..

In the video I had to jump start it from my car, as the expensive Ballistic Lithium battery had failed.. not sure why, suspect being connected to the bike for several months unused drained it. Oddly both the electronic speedo and its sensor require a permanent 12V supply which could be the cause.

There isn't much room for a battery under the seat hump, and what room there is was made to fit the Ballistic. Only problem is that Ballistic company has gone bust.

Eventually I found a suitable Lithium battery of the correct size / power made by a company called Anti Gravity. At £210 it will have to wait a few weeks until I can afford to buy it.

Here's a pic from the LHS, I still want to make the gear change neater by shortening the splined lever and the foot lever by 20mm or so.. but that'll have to wait until I know the ear change feels ok in use as is..
