Question Metal Gaskets or RTV for top end?

Anyone use harley or other brand gaskets for better seal or use RTV? If so which kind do you think is best for top end heads, rockers, and cylinder base?

Thanks for any feedback.

Had to use mixture with RTV and metal gaskets before, but still had leaks.

Used good RTV on my jeep front axle cylinder pinion seal and worked great.

Just curious on thoughts for top end use for RTV and which compound or color etc if makes a difference. I'm sure head squish area would make a difference also.

Not like comes from a tube.

From their web site.

Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gaskets go on dry because they are coated with a sealant. Each MLS head gasket is coated with a .001" thick Viton rubber that is bonded to the outer stainless steel layers. Adding an additional sealer can hinder the performance of an MLS head gasket.

Thanks for the feedback. I've used Cometic for head gaskets before and always use them. My only problem was with rocker gasket and base gasket if wasn't clear on original post.

I used a blue racing RTV on a build a LONG time ago for cylinder base gasket, and rocker gasket and no leaks. But that blue RTV is no longer available in the US last I looked. Need to find the name of it to make sure again though.

Harley used to make the orange rubber coated rocker gaskets, but stopped making them, then when tried the new ones, mostly metal ones, had leaks, and had to add some copper compound around gasket on both sides to stop leakage for mostly rocker gaskets, and some what on base gaskets.

Thanks
