Be careful about "limited to parade, club functions and shows" liability coverage.
What that means: the one time you took the bike to work and hit someone - you're not covered. You pay for your own lawyer, and any award comes out of your pocket.

Great point. After further review I've decided to stick with the State Farm full coverage policy. There are plenty of cheaper policies out there but they don't cover as much as I currently need. My biggest fear is getting hit by an uninsured motorist causing medical bills and loss of income. My SF policy covers it all. They will also let me lower the coverage during the Winter non riding season for lower rates with a simple phone call.

Esurance is owned by state farm- but you do need a good driving record.

Its cheaper becaise its all online- no agents. Good enough company that several years ago State Farm bought them.

You will not find higher coverage at a cheaper price.

I had Haggerty on my 74 Sportster, when a lady (with minimum legal coverage) abruptly crossed over into my lane and hit me head on. They paid the stated value for my bike, and the policy limit for personal injury without a question. My automobile and underinsured polices also paid the policy limits (fortunately, the policies were “stacked”) because a couple of months in the hospital ain’t cheap.
