I've got to get the handlebars back on and see if I have fixed the small leak in the tank first.

But that is the next thing on the list !!

Default crossover

I have a similar situation to the original poster. 97 1200, S/E AC, S/E Cams, CV Carb modified, Fresh Motor bottom-up rebuild. With the Cams, Carb & A/C does the crossover pipe enhance or hamper performance? It's ugly, i'm of the opinion to remove it and add slip-ons. Please chime in!

I put a set of Magnaflow slip-ons on and they eliminated the crossover, the only thing I noticed different was that at certain RPM's it seemed to pound a little harder and it's definitely louder.

Save up your money and buy a good set of 2 into ones.

I already have cycle shack slip-ons. Most 2-1's I've checked won't fit forward controls. So more back to my original question.
Will it perform better?

The crossover does enhance low and mid-range performance on a bike built like yours. With the Cycle Shack slip-ons you actually have a system that outperforms most of the aftermarket exhausts.

No sweat. I was the same as you until I saw the dyno numbers. Still ugly but better than paying for less power.
