Here in Italy is not so easy to find a 20W 50 synth motor oil on mass market...
there are few brands... and even them (Total as an example) are on the market for the sole purpose to be used on motors that had been renewed, refurbished or had many miles on their shoulders

It seems that in US things are different... or i'm wrong? (as to say... the Milwaukee factory, playing at home, put his entire weight on the domestic market)

Couple sportster riders I know ....asked me if I use Lucas Oil Stabilizer in my Primary...and I said never have.....so they talked me into putting 6 ounces in the primary and I will be using it from now on....what a difference, shifting quieter and easier. But that is just my experience and theirs. I buy 20-50 Amsoil at $11.99 a quart at Rural King stores, less expensive than Mobil 1 for V-Twins.

Lucas products are really good. O tried my first lucas product in the 80s when I had a toyota that had a near wore out tranny, I think it actually helped me limp that thing on till I could afford to replace it.
I will have to try it in the primary.
I am in phoenix right now and have decided to use Dyno juice till I get back to CA. It is so hot here I am afraid how the oil will break down in the summer so I change it out about every 1500. I figure synthetic is kinda expensive at that rate of swap out.

I have been using Valvoline 20/50 in my motorcycles for the last 3 years. Synthetic. When I hit 1k miles, I'm switching to Synthetic.

Question. What is the correct amount of oil? Book states to put 2 Qts in the Tank. And 4 ounces in the filter. Oil Temp Dipstick shows near the bottom.

Correct amount varies slightly by year/model.

It's generally around 2.5 qts.

Level about halfway on dipstick warm.

My '06 takes 3qts.. 4oz in filter and 2.6 in oil-bag. Puts it at almost 3/4 0n the dipstick (cold). It's right about at the full mark when warm. My owners manual says 3.6qts with filter (what a mess).

The Temp Dipstick is shorter than the factory unit. I'm using a Bosch Premium 3330 oil filter.
