Ill be 49 in March, My buddy had an old Harley for years and I helped him move it several times due to several divorce's. While we were moving it from storage the last time, I sat on it and fell in love for some reason. I took it home, took it apart, painted her, bored cylinders, then put her back together. I couldn't think of ever getting rid of her. A few years later I sat on a old shovel and bought her too, but my 77 iron still has my heart.

By far the best bike I got, never left me stranded. only one time I had an electrical problem and the only way it would run was wide open. Made it home real quick too!!. I just hot wired it, been that way ever since. Happy riding, hope you get her back on road shortly. not to many left around here in N.C

Greetings all. 30 here. Stationed at Fort Campbell, currently overseas in Army Aviation. My first set of wheels I ever bought was a '69 Cadillac in 2006, then 5 years ago, I met an old retired MoCo employee of Millwauke at a swap meet. At the time I owned a '94 evo rigid that I had bought to start riding on previously. This older fellow had a '68 XLCH that he acquired from a dealer back in '69 that he was raffling off. Nobody took interest in her. She had mixed parts from '73 on it when I got it. He immediately refused to sell it, but I later talked him into a trade with cash, as my chopperific bike pulled attention with the only good paint it had. We went for a walk and talked, and he decided to sell with a partial trade. I also acquired milk crates of parts, both original and period aftermarket, pictures, and information that has been invaluable. If I ever see him again, I'd like to see the rest of his bike collection, as he bought up many models over the years and keeps them like stray pets. I fell in love with early sportsters. There is no better charm from another primitive machine. Didn't get a chance for any glorious road trips yet, but when I put it back together, its going to make alot of the older generation smile.

Thanks Mick. I've been reading alot of threads on here, especially in the stroker dept. I received a few hot rod parts with my bike. I'll be sure to chime in when I get back with access to the pics.
