Ok. So im at a loss. Since my last post, installed a high torque starter, high performance solenoid and new starter relay. With the plugs out and no compression, the engine will turn and the pistons will pump all day long. As soon as I put the plugs in, you see what I get in the video. This is an improvement over what I originally had, but still the same issue. From what I read in the service manual, a slipping clutch will keep the engine from cranking. Am I on the right path in assuming a clutch rebuild is in order?

Clutch need not be pulled in while starting while tranny is in neutral. In Neutral, clutch plates are not even used. so no need to look there. Maybe clutch basket starter ring gear is slipping welds or broken rivets. Can't really say from here. Looking and seeing your video on facebook.

My guess is valve adjustment is too tight. Or old battery. Have you sprayed gas into the carb throat yet? You have spark at plugs? Is battery new?

Edit: never mind. I see you have another thread on this problem
