Things like the gas cap like mentioned can make a lot of noise, and I recently tracked some of the noise to the baffles in my V&H Python pipes. I used stainless rivets to hold the front end of the baffle in two places under and behind the pipe (needs washers to pull the rivets tight), but as I am sure you are guessing, it still makes noise that sounds like I am going to drop the bottom end out of it. It makes that noise around town, and it makes it at over 100, and still hasn't blown up.
Thanks.
I know its loudy but its my first sportsty so I have no comparison and I dont know whats right and whats not. And there is not to many other around the corner where could I put my ear at them.
Bike have almost 66k km and 5000 this year. Even riding in storm is not a challange but i would like to avoid stucking in middle of nowhere
Cap for sure is not a issue - checked yesterday. And noise is not a rattling but someting like "zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz"

Start with simple things like making sure that all adjustments are right, one by one, proceed to next if the problem persists

The gas cap can be really noisy, got me couple of times too
Thanks. Chain checked and adjusted few thousand km before, but no difference. Oil level is checked also

I belive this sound wasnt present 3 years ago, but I can be wrong

I tought it may be a tipical issue but maybe its just a imagination At least I tightened engine mounts cos they were loose.

Thanks!

I’ve never owned a Sportster until last year and my 2019 Iron is noisy, but then again, so was my 2015 Twin Cam, although I must say the Sportster is louder. The quietest bikes I’ve ever heard are the Japanese Sport Bikes.
