Just visited the “Saeng “site and found that they have changed the “micro-swirl edging” from the flexible rubber that I‘ve used several times in the past to a adhesive taped product for straight edges only?

I ran this around the entire fairing and “Laminar Lip”, the edging gives you about 3-4” of enlarged air pocket. My product clips over the edge a routed around curves. Don’t know why th change or if my product is still available.
sportsterpaul,

Thank you for the information about the Gauntlet, Laminar Lip, and Saeng edging. Very helpful.

QUESTION: Is the Gen-4 Edging what you used?

I think on my “Orange” it’s an earlier integration. That which was used on “Black Beauty” may have been Gen III or IV.

My gauntlet works great the way it is, very little around my head at all. Took some adjusting to get it there though. Been running without it for a while now, needs a paint job, bugs took a toll on it the last few years.

Default I don’t leave home without it

I have quick detachable shields on my Roadster and Dyna. I never take them off. Wind blast is fatiguing to me. My highway cruising speed is about 75mph

This came with my new-to-me 2005 Sporty. It is low (the top is at the same level as my chin), forces the wind and most of the bugs over top of my head, can be taken off in one minute and put back on in two minutes with no tools. It is heavy duty and a little adjustable in height by moving it up or down on the forks it mounts on. It is worth its weight in gold and I don't think it can wear out.
