Default Late 84 Tachometer signal wire

I put my original tach back on the bike today. The pink wire is the signal wire for that tach that I know runs to the coil. My question is what side of the coil catches the signal? Does it matter which side gets the wire? My coils are not OEM with a blade terminal for this wire. These are from Pertronix which is the same place I got my ignition system. I don't want to risk frying anything if possible.

I dug up my compufire instructions. There are 2 wires from the unit to the coil. Black to one pole and red to the other. The red wire shares the connection to the ignition switch.

You're using a Dual-Fire setup - Right?

Keyswitch is Power TO the Coil & RED wire extends that Power TO the Ignition Module...

Black wire FROM the Ignition Module is the COIL TRIGGER, which is where you want to take off for the Tachometer (using the PINK Tach Wire)...

Yes, it is a dual fire module. Thank you very much for clarifying.
