Default Custom Painting, Schemes and Graphics.

This aught to be a fun one. I have added a section in the wiki for painting. This should be the one stop shop for painting- procedures, cleaning, brushes, powder coat, air guns, compressors, etc. Pics of custom painted bikes also including- tins, engines and whatever elses. We can pull from the threads for discussion and this thread also. Any pics you want to include, please post them here but make sure you own the picture or can show proof of owner's acknowledgement to include it in the Sportsterpedia. I have started off with a few pictures of a fire I started for muse purposes while brainstorming my paint job. Let's see what happens.

Bought a mostly stock 2003 Hugger in 2012.

Had stage 1 upgrades (V&H Straightshots, SE air Cleaner, rejet) other than that was bone stock.

Ran great, looked great but i got tired of the anniversary tins and wanted something more custom.

Friend paints bikes and was over for Thanksgiving dinner. Full of turkey and beer he offered to paint my tins for free.

Wanted a clean big fender look so eliminated the tail light. Welded a piece in the hole

I wanted flat black but sometimes you gotta give creative license when the job is free

Is the picture of the 1st bike before or after painting? I don't see the stripe on the side of the bike in the tins pic.
What type welder did you use to weld the fender hole?
