Chrome and black (and a bit of flat silver and polished aluminum, too)...

If it ain't broke, don't fix it (especially if you don't know what you're doing). Most Sportster problems are owner-induced.

This "black out" business has some kind of psychic appeal to it, but not for me. Take the 300 Blackout cartridge for the ARs. It can shoot a subsonic load, and that's it's claim to fame. It's a dog. And blackout anything else. I can see you but you can't see me because I'm "blackout". I'm not an enthusiast.

The blacked out look is one of many things that turn me off of the new bikes. This will be my last. I bought as new as I could and still have a carb. Still a lot I want to do but I've got it chromed out. Might do the handlebars yet. Only come in black. Need a little black tho to offset the chrome. I feel I've done that.

When I bought my Sporty it had every chrome cover under the sun, I've blacked out a significant portion of that and have more to do, but I'm still keeping a few choice chrome bits (exhaust, shocks...)

I think chrome works best as an accent, not for the majority of parts on the bike.

As with most things this is purely opinion, if you want chrome everywhere then do it!
