Does not rattle and easy to remove if I need to. Real easy to slot the heat shield and had no problem with rust starting around where I cut through the chrome. Need longer hose clamps than the originals........ no problem, auto parts places got all sizes.

Those spot welds are always broken. I think brazing may last longer because it's not as hard? But the clamp around the pipe fixes it even if you don't reweld the broken one.

The part of the shield that I used never had brackets on it. That's why I used nuts for spacers. it's easy to find nuts that are the right thickness to stand the shield off the pipe the right distance.

The heat shield was chrome and I didn't want to burn or blue it with heat to put the crappy little brackets back on. That is the main reason I slotted the cover and put the hose clamp on it.

replacing all the noisy things: worn out lever perches, worn out rubber gaskets around speedo and tach, crappy horn cover, horn is now hidden behind the lower frame fairing.

The MagnaFlow slip-ons I put on last year have baffle rattle when they are cold. I'm thinking I may have to remove them and put that thin blanket packing inside. Project for the Spring.

Here's my list of things that DO NOT RATTLE on my sportsters....

That is a complete list to the best of my recollection.
