I just did another clutch adjust after installing a ClutchLite release ramp.

The FSM procedure does suck. It is difficult to feel what's going on turning the screw if you haven't done this a lot and even then it's vague at best.

What is much easier is to grab the release arm where the cable attaches and check for movement there. Clearance (or lack of clearance) is obvious there as you adjust the screw. Check for release arm movement, same direction as the cable operating the release. You can easily feel the clearance (free play) change at the arm as you adjust the screw vs the vague feel you get at the screw.

The first time I adjusted my clutch, I had burned my fingertips at work a few days before. That had made it easier to "feel" the screw touch. Now when I adjusted it, I had to check it 2-3 times and remembered it from memory. {Caution: Do NOT intentionally burn your fingers to make them more sensitive, it's just plain Stupid!} Live and Learn.

I just did a readjust on my new E1. I use the method Tomcat mentions as I like to get it as tight as possible and back off no more than a 1/4 turn. Reason being is I also leave a lot more than 1/16" of play in the cable. More like 3/16". This makes for a short throw so it needs to start engaging pretty quickly.
Not for everyone and requires adjusting a little more frequently as everything needs to be just so.

The screw is not that tricky "IF" you have adjusted solid lifters
Counter clockwise until you just feel it "Kiss" then clockwise 1/4-3/8 turn
