Default Removing oil tank DIY?

My 2008 XL1200 has been dripping a small amount of oil lately. I pressure washed the bike and let it set for a day so I could see where the oil might be coming from. The oil seems to be dripping on the swing arm bushing. I did some searches and it seems like the most likely cause is a crack in the oil tank. I have not been able to find info on how to remove the tank and repair.
The bike has 35000 miles on it.
Is there something else that I should check?

Check the transmission vent line for kinks.

If it is just a small amount of oil, check the vent (#17) and oil return (#18) lines and clamps.
At 12 years old it may be time to replace the oil lines.

Up to 2010 the return line connects to the bottom of the oil tank toward the left side of the bike I believe.

2007-2009:

A new oil tank for 2010+ has the return line (#14) on the front of the tank:

I found it. It was a crack in line 22 where the clamp pinches it on the tank fitting. . It was hard to see because the oil ran down the underside of hose so the line looked clean.

Thanks for the help!

I had a leak on my '06 in the same (drain line) area last summer. Good to hear you found it!
