Default Rear mount for solo seat?

This seat doesn’t have the rear mount bracket. There are two rivets were the bracket usually mounts.

There are two threaded holes that are horizontal in that same area. The seat is long in the back.

I’ve only had the kind of seat that has a tab sticking out the back.

Does any one know what bracket this seat takes?
How/where it mounts to the fender?

TIA

What's the brand and model of the seat?

Does the seat itself cover the mounting screw location on the fender?

Was it intended as part of a dual-seat?

I think it’s an HD, possibly a sundowner. I’m not even 100% that it’s for a 1983-2003 XL, but the bar and pan looks like it.

The seat is 18” long overall and extends well past where the bracket would mount to the threaded holes in the previous photo. It would cover mounting hole by a few inches. The back of the seat would hit around the middle or highest part of the fender, between the two existing seat tab mounting holes.

Here is the top of the seat.

Anyone else?

I was hoping someone had seen this seat and knew what is uses for a bracket.

(And if it does fit an 1983-2003)

Doesn't ring a bell. I do see that HD logo. By the shape of it, it kinda looks like a Softail seat. A Softail has a rear fender that sits higher in the frame than a Sportster.

Max, that may be a Diamond Back seat.
It mounts by way of the Diamond Back pillion.
If I'm right, the PN is (52630-95A). Fits ’83-’03 XL models.
The Diamond Back pillion (52069-98)
The pillion at least is for 1983 and later XL’s and 1984 and later Softails, except FXSTD.

I can't find the instruction sheet for the seat but here is the one for the pillion.

edit:
I also found a 52629-00 Diamond Back seat for 2000 and later Softails, except FLSTS and FXSTD.
Uses the same pillion.
I wonder if that could be the difference in the length of the seat.
Be nice if it had a part number on it.

I think you nailed it Hippy. Thanks!

It’s missing the tail so that it can mount to the regular fender bolt. Kind of a nice seat... I don’t know what the comfort is like, but it’s missing an important piece. The diamond tail (or the pillion). The tail could be fabricated, IDK if it’s worth the effort.

Note: I also looked at the softail seat... it didn’t have the 1983-2003 front bar.
