Thanks for the info guys, I took the tank off and parted the connector there, and there was a bit of corrosion on one or two of the pins. I cleaned them all up with a bit of fine wet and dry, a drop of wd40 and all is working ok!
Went out for a RBLRB charity ride-out yesterday and of course it was raining, but no problems whatsoever!

Didn't check it at all after as both front and rear indicators were glowing nice and bright with a good steady flash.

You may have resolved all the high resistance connections, but if the voltage at the socket is less than at the battery, then there may be other locations to clean up...before it gets worse. Could be the same situation with your tach
