I ended up buying a tank today on ebay. Maybe some of you had also seen it. I'm pretty sure its an 80 Xls gas tank in the correct colors.
With the shorter front horns with a hole. Someone placed some big tank stickers from the mid 80s- 1985 Fx right over the top of the tank HD logos still there.
Now I need to find a complete rear mounting set for the XLS/FX. Its crazy the replacement kits run around $80 new...back to watching Fleabay.

It has been quite a few years since but J&P Cycles used to have those mounting kits. They were for the SuperGlide tank and work for the 1980 XLS tank.

Used that on my 80 XLS many years ago and used that on my current bike that has a superglide tank on a Mark Rowe Framed sporty
