There are beat up ones that sell for $100-250 on Ebay fairly often but the amount of body work they will need and then the work and cost of a paint job makes them not worth it to me.

So my other question still stands: Can I buy reproductions of the turtle or superglide tank?
There is no turtle tank replica available. If you wantone, you have to buy used OEM. I don't know about the other stuff.

The turtle tank does hold 4 gallons.

Has anyone put a turtle tank on a 1982-up sportster? What was involved and can you post pics if it has been done?

Me & big griff out for a ride last winter, he's on my 74xlh & I'm on my 80xls roadster.
Not to hijack this thread but both those scoots look great

I know you said "bolt on", but my '83 sure doesn't have a rear mount on the frame that far back...

Now you are making me think!

It has been so long since I put that tank on there (8 or 9 yrs maybe) that I don't really remember. I don't remember doing anything crazy but I will try to look tonight and get some pics for you.

I can barely remember 8 or 9 minutes ago.

What were we talking about?

I just acquired a 77 XLT. It has a porkster tank on it... which I'm getting rid of... I'm wondering if a 250/350 Sprint tank will work on it or a Superglide tank would be a better fit. They both look the same to me...

I'm glad to have this rare gem! It will take a while to find the bags, and windshield, but I'm looking forward to restoring this baby!
