Default Will 2009 fork tubes fit 2000

Replaced seals twice still leaking. Problem may have been pitting.

Can get new 2009 tubes cheaper than polishing or hard chroming.

Will they fit ?

Which model 2009 tubes are you looking at?

The fork tubes are 39mm - so they will fit in the trees - While this thread is about the reverse, later model lowers on pre-2004 upper sliders in order to install newer calipers, I think this establishes the compatibility between the upper & lower sliders - and all those years use the same Fork Service Kit (49378-09):
http://xlforum.net/forums/s....php?t=1690648

But the overall length & the fork travel may differ depending on the model of the 2009... You also need to consider the axle size if you're replacing the lower tubes - unless you're replacing the forks & wheel/axle together...

Here's the Sportsterpedia section on forks:
http://sportsterpedia.com/doku.php/t...ront_fork_info

We don't have the overall length of the forks listed - May need to do a little digging for that - but we do list the damper tube length which has to do with both overall length & fork travel...

Thanks for that info. Spoke to seller, he said they couldn't visually see any difference. Thought the 09 in the part no is related to the change is dampers. Have bought them and will post the result when I find out if it works.

Wet day looking through my old crap.

Yes these tubes did fit no difference, maybe 1/8th of an inch longer otherwise was straight swap, problem solved.
