10 year old bike with 4700 miles? Where has that bad boy been?
I've seen rusted out hulks with almost zero miles, garaged under the dripping deck, all depends upon how they have been stored.
But then again some metals are not of the highest quality and can oxidize.

it was owned by a woman in her 60s before last may.
she bought it new, it had 4000 miles when i got it.
it was stored in a barn, so im sure there was considerable moisture.

im not impressed with harley's paint.
much of it is falling off the underside of the rear fender.

I live on a dirt road in Maine.
Stones penetrate the finish, the rest is magic.
I like Harley paint. Good paint is expensive.

previous owner lived in the country.
maybe lots of gravel on the underside of the fender damaging the paint?
large paint chips were coming off when i removed the fender this season.
chips the size of a nickel to a quarter were fairly common.
