Hi Nigel. It's an old saying here in southern California.

It's actually true which is why it has stuck for a couple of generations.

Think about it a bit. It's always guys who go out on Saturday night drinking that over do it and find themselves riding or driving way over their head. Guys who are drunk half the time learn to deal with it on a daily basis and rarely ever get pulled over or wreck a vehicle. So around here when we see headlines about a drunk driver causing mayhem, we always refer to them as an amateur drunk.

I knew a guy in the Air Force who was really sharp at his job, and a very nice guy to hang out with. Then one day I was exposed to him being sober. Biggest asshole you ever met. Drunk was his life, and it didn't stand out unless you saw his other side.

I don't see why you guys are being so critical. He's just following directions. The manual says to "always support the vehicle with jack stands". So what's the problem?
