Default gas cap

my fuel tank cap is loose it rattles it has got the rubber seal on it ,any way i can tighten it to stop. rattling???

If it helps, never had mine rattle on my 2009, so the newer ones may be better. Some on different models (including sportsters) have gone to the 'pop-up" style.

Does it have the crimped over cover? Just tighten the crimps a bit with a screwdriver & small hammer...

Mine is intended to 'click' past the point where it's tight - so the cap itself is a bit loose - doesn't bother me...

If it's vented, just make sure you don't interfere with the venting...

If the whole cap is loose, perhaps an additional rubber seal added to make it thicker...

Funny how my cap gets hard to unscrew and then screw back every once in a while. Then it goes back to a normal fit. Anybody else notice this one?
